Avatex Service Company serves Alden Bridge, the large 1990s-era village in the northwest of The Woodlands. Its homes — built mostly from the mid-1990s through the early 2000s under the same heavy pine canopy as the rest of the Township — are now on second or third systems, with zone dampers and builder ductwork from the original construction still in the attic. Licensed HVAC (TACLA #89729C) and electrical (TECL #34162), family-owned, no-pressure, Township-compliant placement on every job.

The 1990s village hitting its second replacement cycle

Alden Bridge opened as a village in the mid-1990s and built out through the early 2000s: one- and two-story homes across dozens of wooded neighborhoods, generally 1,800–3,500 square feet. Systems installed during construction have already been replaced once in most homes — and those first replacements, installed in the 2010s, are themselves aging now.

What usually didn't get replaced is the ductwork and zoning hardware. A 2010s condenser breathing through 1990s ducts with original damper motors is the classic Alden Bridge setup, and it's why comfort complaints here often survive an equipment swap.

Pine debris on condenser coils

The canopy that defines The Woodlands mats outdoor coils with needles and organic debris faster than open subdivisions. Annual coil cleaning is the cheapest life-extension money can buy here.

Original ducts under newer equipment

Replacement systems installed without duct evaluation inherit 25-year-old leaks and static-pressure problems. We measure before we quote, so you fix the actual bottleneck.

Township design standards

The Woodlands' Residential Development Standards require ground-level compressors in muted earth tones, placed in the rear or side yard — but a like-for-like replacement at the existing location with color-compatible equipment is pre-approved, no application needed.

Utility, rebates & rules in Alden Bridge

Most of The Woodlands is served by Entergy Texas, a regulated utility. Entergy's 2026 Distributed Products HVAC Program pays incentives on qualifying high-efficiency equipment (from 15.2 SEER2; heat pumps also need 8.5 HSPF2), scaling from $75 up to $1,075 by size and tier, paid through the equipment distributor (verified July 2026 in Entergy Texas's published 2026 program guide).

Standby generators in the Township must sit below six feet above natural grade, be screened from ground-level view, self-test during daytime hours, and be noted on the main circuit box — we build all of that into the install. The federal 25C energy-efficiency tax credit ended for equipment placed in service after December 31, 2025, so utility programs are the main source of HVAC savings in 2026 (verified July 2026 against the IRS OBBB FAQ).

Alden Bridge questions we hear the most

I replaced my Alden Bridge AC a decade ago — why is comfort getting worse again?

Usually the parts that never got replaced: 1990s ductwork, zone dampers, and insulation. We test static pressure and zoning before quoting anything, because the bottleneck often isn't the equipment.

Do I need Township approval to replace my AC in Alden Bridge?

Not for a like-for-like swap at the existing location with color-compatible equipment — that's pre-approved under the Residential Development Standards. New locations or added units need review.

Which utility serves Alden Bridge, and are there rebates?

Most of The Woodlands is Entergy Texas territory. Entergy's 2026 program discounts qualifying 15.2+ SEER2 systems through the equipment distributor — from $75 up to $1,075 depending on size and efficiency tier (verified July 2026).

How often should a Woodlands outdoor unit be cleaned?

Annually, minimum. Pine needles and canopy debris mat the condenser coil and force longer run times. A tune-up with proper coil cleaning protects both efficiency and lifespan.
